How to solve the problem of unbalanced three-phase load?

1.Three-phase load

Three-phase loads are defined as providing power source for the operation of power-driven equipment with three phases. The three-phase loads can fall into the balance of three-phase loads and the imbalance of three-phase loads.

What is main sensor in a 200KW diesel generator?

1.Oil pressure sensor.

Its function is mainly to monitor oil pressure, then we can know the capacity of oil. If the lubricating oil is less, the wear of the generator set will increase, resulting in the reduction of the service life of the diesel generator set.

2.Coolant temperature sensor.

Its function is mainly to monitor coolant temperature, so that we can know whether the temperature of the water tank exceeds the normal value. Normal value is generally 85℃. If the temperature of the water tank is too high, the cylinder block will be heated too high, which will damage the diesel generator set and cause power failure.

3.Speed sensor.

Its function is mainly to monitor whether the flywheel speed of diesel generator set is fixed 1500 or 1800 rpm. To ensure the normal voltage and frequency of diesel generator set. If the speed of the generator set is not normal, then the voltage and frequency of the diesel generator set will not be normal, and other equipment will not be able to use normally.

4.Intake air temperature sensor.

This is mainly for EFI diesel engine. Detect the intake air temperature and provide it to ECU as the basis for calculating the air density. The function of the intake air temperature sensor is to measure the temperature of the air entering the intake manifold. In the volumetric flow intake system, the electronic control unit (ECU) modifies the injection quantity according to the intake air temperature to obtain the best air-fuel ratio. The intake air temperature sensor also helps to calculate the injection quantity more accurately. The air temperature determines the air density. That is to say, when the volume of cold air and hot air is the same, the quality of cold air is heavier. Therefore, when absorbing cold air, there is more oxygen in the combustion chamber and the injection time is longer.

5.Exhaust gas temperature sensor.

Commonly used exhaust temperature sensors are thermistor type and thermocouple type. Because of the high exhaust temperature of diesel engine, the thermistor sensors used to measure the exhaust temperature are generally high temperature devices. Zirconium solid electrolyte sensors and electronic conduction sensors are commonly used. When using the thermocouple, there is no need for external power supply, but the electromotive force is generated by the temperature of the welding parts of the two alloys. But this kind of electromotive force is not directly related to the concave and convex of temperature, but is related to the difference between the detected temperature and the ambient temperature, which should be paid attention to when using. Generally, the electronic control system of small and medium diesel engines is not equipped with this kind of sensor.

6.Fuel pump speed sensor.

7.Lube oil temperature sensor. Its founction is mainly to monitor temperature of lube oil. When the temperature is high, the controller will send a alarm indication.

8.Return oil temperature sensor.

9.Fuel level sensor. Its founction is mainly to monitor diesel fuel level. When fuel level is lower than set value, the controller will send a alarm indication.

How to clean radiator in diesel generator set?

After a long term use of radiator, the most important is to clean it. Radiator cleaning is divided into external cleaning and internal cleaning. This is a very important link, which will directly affect the use effect of the radiator, and then affect the use of the whole generator set.

The gap of the radiator of generator set working in the open air may be blocked by debris, insects and other debris. We can often use low-pressure hot water (appropriate addition of cleaning agent) for spray washing, pay attention to the steam or water from the front of the radiator to the fan spray. When spraying, cover the diesel engine and alternator with cloth. If the deposit is difficult to remove, remove the radiator and soak it in hot alkaline water for about 20 minutes, then rinse it with hot water.

Firstly, pour 30kg water, 2.5kg caustic soda and 0.6kg kerosene into the water tank.

Secondly, start the diesel generator set. Turn off the diesel generator set after running at medium speed for about 10 minutes. After 10-12 hours, start the diesel generator set again, and stop the engine after running at medium speed for about 10 minutes.

Finally, control the cleaning liquid in the water tank, add clean cooling water, start the diesel generator set, operate at medium speed to make the diesel generator set clean by itself, and repeat 2-3 times to remove the scale in the water tank of the diesel generator set.

In order to ensure the service life of the diesel generator set and reduce the failure rate, we should regularly maintain the diesel generator set. And we should also pay attentions below:

During the operation of the generator set, the coolant in the cooling radiator is usually very hot and has pressure. Therefore, it is strictly forbidden to clean the radiator or remove the pipe when it is not cooled, let alone operate the radiator or open the fan protective cover when the fan is rotating.

Corrosion is the main cause of radiator failure. It is suggested that the pipe joints should be checked frequently to avoid leakage, and the water tank should be filled regularly to drain the air in the system. The cooling water tank should not be in the condition of partial water injection and discharge, because it often accelerates the corrosion process. For the generator set that doesn’t work, the water tank should be emptied or filled completely. If conditions permit, it is best to use distilled water or natural soft water, and add an appropriate amount of antirust agent.

What is the function of radiator in diesel generator set?

1.The air inlet baffle and louver should be able to adjust the gas flow during operation (for example, the louver assembly with narrow blades has greater resistance than that with wide blades).

2.When the generator operates in cold climate, the air intake valve of diesel engine should be closed. When the diesel generator starts, all the inlet and outlet on-off valves should be opened; when the air temperature is higher than 16℃, all the circulation control valves should be closed.

3.Except that the cooling air is allowed to be recycled in the machine room in the cold climate, the rest of the ventilation air should be directly discharged to the outside, and it is strictly prohibited to heat other rooms (except the generator room).

4.Radiator is necessary to use elastic pipe joint to absorb displacement and vibration of diesel generator set. Regularly check the technical status of front wheel alignment and steering device. Regular inspection and adjustment of front wheel alignment, front wheel bearing clearance and steering device is an important measure to reduce tire wear and deformation damage of walking parts. Check according to the required value of each type of tractor and adjust it if necessary. Pay more attention to the fixed clearance of the front wheel knuckle and the tie rod nut, especially the front wheel.

5.The daily maintenance of diesel generator is very important. Keep all parts clean, and check the fastening of hub bolts, nuts, split pins and other parts frequently to ensure the fastening is reliable. Add grease to the swing shaft sleeve, front wheel shaft and steering knuckle every shift; regularly check the oil level of belt pulley, guide wheel and supporting wheel, add lubricating oil if necessary, and regularly clean and change the oil as required. What should we do to solve faults of AC generator

AC alternator is an important part in diesel generator, if it has faults, whole diesel generator can not work. Some customers asked question about this last time, so Starlight Power will answer details about the common faults of AC alternator, hope this article is helpful to everyone.

A.There is abnormal voltage between alternator neutral line and ground.

1.Under normal condition, due to the influence of high-order harmonics or manufacturing process, the air gap under each magnetic pole is uneven and the magnetic potential is unequal. If the voltage is between one and several volts, there will be no danger and it is not necessary to deal with it.

2.The alternator winding has short circuit or poor insulation to the ground, which leads to the deterioration of electrical equipment and alternator performance and easy to heat up. Therefore, timely maintenance should be carried out to avoid the expansion of the accident.

3.There is no voltage between neutral line and ground under no-load, but voltage appears when there is load, which is caused by three-phase imbalance. Therefore, three-phase load should be adjusted to make it basically balanced.

B.Alternator overheating.

1.The alternator does not operate according to the specified technical conditions. Over high stator voltage, iron loss increasing, too large load current, startor winding cooper loss increasing, too low frequency, those factors will slows down the cooling fan speed, affect the alternator heat dissipation. And too low power makes the rotor excitation current increase, resulting in rotor heating.

2.The three-phase load current of the alternator is unbalanced, and the overload one phase winding will overheat; if the difference of the three-phase current exceeds 10% of the rated current, it is a serious unbalanced phase current. The unbalanced three-phase current will produce negative sequence magnetic field, thus increasing the loss and causing the heating of the pole winding and ferrule. The three-phase load should be adjusted to keep the current balance as much as possible.

3.The air duct is blocked by dust and the ventilation is poor, which makes heat radiation difficult. We should clean dust and oil dirt to make the air duct unobstructed.

4.Air intake temperature is too high or water intake temperature is too high, cooler is blocked. We should cool down Air intake temperature and water intake temperature, and remove the blockage in the cooler. Before troubleshooting, we should limit the load of alternator to reduce the temperature of alternator.

5.Too much or too little grease for bearing. Grease should be added according to the regulations, usually 1/2 ~ 1/3 of the bearing chamber (the upper limit for the lower speed and the lower limit for the higher speed), and it should not exceed 70% of the bearing chamber.

6.Bearing wear. If not serious wear, will make bearing overheated locally. If serious wear, it may cause friction between stator and rotor, resulting in overheating of stator and rotor. We should check whether there is noise in the bearing. If friction between stator and rotor is found, stop the machine immediately for maintenance or replace the bearing.

7.The insulation damage of stator core will cause the short circuit between pieces, which will increase the eddy current loss of the iron core and generate heat. In serious cases, the stator winding will be damaged. Stop the machine immediately for maintenance.

8.The parallel conductor of stator winding is broken, which makes the current of other wires increase and generate heat. Stop the machine immediately for maintenance.

C.Alternator overcurrent.

1.Overload. We should reduce load.

2.In case of phase to phase short circuit or grounding fault of transmission line, the line should be overhauled, and it can return to normal after troubleshooting.

D.Generator terminal voltage too high.

1.If the grid voltage of the generators paralleled with the power grid is too high, the voltage of the generators in parallel should be reduced.

2.If the fault of excitation device causes over excitation, the excitation device should be repaired in time.

E.Insufficient power.

Due to insufficient compound excitation compensation of voltage source of excitation device, the excitation current required by armature reaction can not be provided, so that the generator terminal voltage is lower than the grid voltage and the rated reactive power cannot be delivered. The following measures should be taken:

1.A three-phase voltage regulator is connected between the generator and the excitation reactor to increase the terminal voltage of the generator and gradually increase the magnetic potential of the excitation device.

2.By changing the phase between the voltage and magnetic flux potential of the excitation device and the voltage at the generator terminal, the resultant total magnetic flux potential can be increased, and a resistance of several thousand Ω and 10W can be paralleled at both ends of each phase winding of the reactor.

3.Reducing the resistance of rheostat increases the excitation current of generator.

F.Alternator loses the residual magnetism and cannot generate electricity when starting.

1.The reason why the residual magnetism is often lost after shutdown is that the material used for the magnetic pole of the exciter is close to the soft steel, and the residual magnetism is less. When there is no current in the excitation winding after shutdown, the magnetic field will disappear. Batteries should be provided and magnetized before power generation.

2.When the magnetic pole of the generator loses magnetism, the DC current larger than the rated current (for a short time) should be introduced into the winding for magnetization, that is, sufficient remanence can be recovered.

G.The temperature of excitation reactor of automatic excitation device is too high.

1.If the reactor coil is short circuited locally, the reactor should be repaired.

2.The air gap of reactor magnetic circuit is too large, so the air gap of magnetic circuit should be adjusted.

H.After generator is started, the voltage cannot rise.

1.The excitation circuit is disconnected, so that the voltage can not rise. Check whether the excitation circuit is broken and whether the contact is good.

2.If there is no instruction on the exciter voltmeter that the residual magnetism disappears, the exciter should be magnetized.

3.The polarity of the magnetic field coil of the exciter is reversed, and its positive and negative connecting lines should be exchanged.

4.When doing some tests in the maintenance of the generator, the magnetic field coil is wrongly connected with reverse direct current, which leads to the disappearance or reversal of the residual magnetism, so the magnetization should be conducted again.

2500kva diesel electric generator set

1.The generator set can start and operate with load quickly. In the case of unattended operation, the unit can start automatically within 10 seconds after receiving the start command. Under normal site condition, the success rate of one-time self starting of the unit shall not be less than 99%.

2.The start-up battery can restart after failure starting 5s, and can provide six consecutive starts without affecting the use of the start-up battery in the future. The starting battery has redundant starting system.

Provide two sets of battery device: one is static charging device after long-term shutdown of the unit(automatic battery charger); another is charger device during unit running(maintenance free battery). When battery charger has fault, The genset control unit can send out alarm signal.

4.The average overhaul period of the unit shall not be less than 15000 hours.

9.Fuel oil and lube oil of diesel engine

(3)The calibration of engine capacity in diesel generator set: altitude 2000m, ambient temperature -10 to 40 ℃, relative humidity 85%. Under this condition, the unit can start normally without adding auxiliary equipment, and there will be no power drop.

(4)Grounding and safety: the base is equipped with devices convenient for connecting with ground wire, and the unit and frame are reliably grounded. When the ambient temperature is 15-35℃ and the relative humidity is 45%-75%, the cold insulation resistance of the unit is not less than 2mΩ; when the ambient temperature is 25℃ and the relative humidity is 95%, the cold insulation resistance of the unit is not less than 0.4mΩ; the hot insulation resistance is not less than 100m Ω. The unit adopts anti-interference measures to avoid misoperation caused by radio wave interference.

A.If diesel genset operates under rated conditions for a few minutes, the automatic air switch trips, after recloses, then trips a few minutes later with a burning odor.

The cause:

The main contact of the automatic air switch is not well contacted or the spring pressure is insufficient. and the lead-out wire of the switch is not well contacted. The above two reasons will increase the contact resistance of the main circuit of the automatic air switch and cause serious fever, which will lead to the action of the thermal release and lead to wrong tripping.

Methods of resolution:

At this time, we should clean the main contacts of the automatic air switch and flatten them with a fine file or fine sandpaper; Adjust contact spring pressure to make good contact; clean contacts, apply conductive paste if necessary, and lock connection screw.

B.Diesel generator trips immediately after connecting load.

After the unit starts, the generator terminal voltage is normal, but when the external circuit is connected, the load automatic air switch will trip immediately.

The causes:

External circuit short circuit and too heavy load.

Methods of resolution:

Find out the short circuit point of the external circuit and repair it. Reduce load to reduce load current output of generators.

But when we do not know what is causes of genset tip, what should do? After power generator set tripping, first check genset to judge the cause of this trip, and then take appropriate measures, the specific steps are as follows:

1.Check whether there is a problem of wrong operation, and whether the secondary circuit will cause tripping;

2.When the main circuit breaker at the outlet of transformer set of generator trips automatically, first check whether the generator indicator has any obvious fault symbols, if have, should cut off the excitation immediately; if not abnormal symbol, under the situation of good furnace condition, the electrical attendant should adjust the generator voltage and frequency in the normal range, check whether the high-voltage auxiliary power with the generator set trips, whether the start-up transformer is put into linkage, and whether the auxiliary power is normal;

3.According to accident phenomena, to judge the nature and scope of the fault, and clearly inspect the external of transformer set of generator and related equipment, to identify whether there are external fault characteristics;

4.Need to pay attentions, If switch tripping occurs in incomplete phase, need to remove start of switch protection failure; if it is not failure protection problem, it is necessary to open all switches connected to the same bus in time;

5.If because of busbar differential protection operation, or generator is over-current protection and other over-step tripping due to faults in substations, check the generator’s external, it is normal, after fault isolation, the connection network is adjusted and connected to the grid;

6.Before tripping, if there is forced excitation and current shock. Reflecting the main protection (differential, heavy mashgas, etc.) action of the internal faults of generator-transformer unit, while the power grid is running normally, should shut down at this time;

7.And that’s another one that will quickly shut down a generator: alternator or prime mover over-temperature, as heat causes lubrication to break down and bearings to swell, increasing friction, causing more heat, and potential total failure or more fire;

8.If there is no strong excitation action and no impulse current before tripping, the operation of power grid is also normal. The generator’s hydro-oil system and main transformer are also normal. The following treatment should be done: check the generator and its circuit, check the protection of the action, if all is normal, generator can be boosted at zero. When boosting, if everything is normal, the generator can be connected to the grid, and then continue to find out the reasons. When boosting, the strong excitation and automatic adjustment device shall not be put into operation. The neutral point of the high-voltage side of the generator-transformer unit shall be grounded. If abnormal phenomena are found, the generator-transformer unit shall be stopped immediately for inspection.

If it is found that the tripping is not caused by the failure of diesel generator set, it may be caused by the wrong operation of the relevant personnel. At this time, the demagnetization switch is often still in the closing position.
